AM to bring free CPR training to Bridgend residents | AC i gyflwyno hyfforddiant di-dâl ar adfywio calonnau i drigolion Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr

Residents will have the opportunity to take part in free life saving and CPR training in Bridgend.

Suzy Davies, Welsh Conservative AM for South Wales West, has teamed up with British Heart Foundation Cymru to host a free training session for local residents at Bridgend’s Brewery Field.

The free training sessions will take place between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday 22nd November 2018, with all residents taking part getting their own certificate to show they are British Heart Foundation certified.

Mrs Davies, who has campaigned to get age appropriate life saving skills as a mandatory part of the school curriculum, said: “The skills that we need to make a different and potentially save the life and of family member or close friend are not difficult to learn.

“However we still need more people to understand what to do and how to act if someone near to them suffers a cardiac arrest.

“With these crucial skills we can make sure Wales become a nation of life savers.”

According to British Heart Foundation Cymru, at present fewer than one in ten people currently survive a heart attack that takes place away from a hospital environment.

Free training from British Heart Foundation Cymru is available between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday 22nd November 2018 at Bridgend’s Brewery Field, Tondu Road, Bridgend, CF31 4JE.

To reserve your free space at this event, please contact Suzy Davies’ office on 01656 646432

Bydd trigolion yn cael y cyfle i gymryd rhan mewn hyfforddiant di-dâl ar achub bywyd ac adfywio calonnau ym Mhen-y-bont ar Ogwr.

Mae Suzy Davies, AC y Ceidwadwyr Cymreig dros Orllewin De Cymru, yn cydweithio â Sefydliad Prydeinig y Galon Cymru i gynnal sesiwn o hyfforddiant di-dâl i drigolion lleol ym Maes y Bragdy, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr.

Cynhelir y sesiynau o hyfforddiant di-dâl rhwng 2pm a 4pm, ddydd Iau, 22 Tachwedd 2018, a bydd yr holl drigolion sy’n cymryd rhan yn cael eu tystysgrif eu hunain i ddangos eu bod wedi’u hardystio gan Sefydliad Prydeinig y Galon.

Meddai Mrs Davies, sydd wedi ymgyrchu i sicrhau bod sgiliau achub bywyd priodol i oedran yn rhan orfodol o’r cwricwlwm ysgol:

“Nid yw'n anodd dysgu'r sgiliau sydd eu hangen arnom i wneud gwahaniaeth ac achub bywyd perthynas neu ffrind agos.

“Ond mae angen i fwy o bobl ddeall beth i’w wneud pan fo rhywun yn dioddef ataliad y galon.

“Gyda’r sgiliau hollbwysig hyn gallwn ofalu bod Cymru yn dod yn genedl o achubwyr bywyd.”
